Privacy Policy

Short version

We do not collect, retain, or share personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no trackers. Your media — videos, PDFs, and slide decks — travels directly from one of your devices to another and never passes through our servers.

Your media

Chusko projects local files straight from the device holding them (the Projector) to the device displaying them (the Screen). Nothing you project reaches any server operated by us.

Videos stream as file bytes. PDFs and PowerPoint presentations are turned into page images on the Projector itself, and only those images are sent to the Screen; the document file never leaves the device holding it. The desktop app converts PowerPoint files locally through LibreOffice, and no conversion service is ever involved.

On the receiving device, the incoming bytes are cached only on that device (the app cache directory, or browser storage on the web) and go away when you clear them or close the session.

What the relay handles

So two devices can find each other, our relay passes a small connection handshake between them: a six-character room code, the chosen role (Projector or Screen), and the connection details the devices exchange to reach each other. That is a few kilobytes per session.

The relay keeps this in memory only, for as long as the room lives. Unpaired rooms expire after about ten minutes, idle rooms are swept shortly after activity stops, and nothing is written to disk or logged. Media never flows through the relay.

Local network discovery

When hosting a room, the native apps announce the current room code on your local network (Bonjour/NSD under the service name_chusko._tcp) so nearby devices can offer one-tap joining. This stays inside your own network. Between two native devices on the same Wi-Fi, your media may also move over your local network directly, which is what makes transfers fast.

Accounts and identifiers

Chusko has no account system, no sign-in, no profiles, and no advertising identifiers. The apps contain no analytics or crash reporting SDKs.

Children

Because we collect no data at all, no data is collected from children either.

Changes

If this changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Given how Chusko works, we expect changes, if any, to be small.
